One could say “Where We Stood” is a follow up to The Pineapple Thief’s 2016 release “Your Wilderness,” which made waves in the progressive rock world. On this latest release fans can experience their London show from the album tour, and they have released it in a few different options, including a standalone Blu-ray, audiophile vinyl, or a 4-disc box set that includes a 48-page book. To get the full impact of this stellar show you’ll want the Blu-ray, which contains video and immersive 5.1 surround.
The stunning performances feature Bruce Soord on vocals and guitar, Jon Sykes anchoring on bass, and Steve Kitch playing keys, who team up with the legendary Porcupine Tree drummer Gavin Harrison and Darran Charles adding lead guitar.
The Blu-ray version of Where We Stood includes the concert film with two 24-bit / 96kHz DTS-HD MA 5.1 surround sound mixes, the first one is natural, and the second is discrete, plus a 24-bit / 96kHz hi-res stereo audio version of the concert. Also included is the original Your Wilderness album in both 24-bit / 96kHz DTS-HD MA 5.1 surround sound and 24-bit / 96kHz hi-res stereo audio, and the previously exclusive and sold out 8 Years Later bonus material in both 24-bit / 96kHz DTS-HD MA 5.1 surround sound and 24-bit / 96kHz hi-res stereo audio. Also an acoustic 5-track bonus album in 24-bit / 96kHz hi-res stereo audio, a Where We Stood documentary film featuring behind the scenes footage from the concert, plus exclusive documentary footage of Bruce Soord during the songwriting process, a making-of video for the single "In Exile", and Soord's acoustic studio performance of Tear You Up, and lastly the official videos for In Exile and No Man's Land.
This is a great deal for fans, but decreases the value of the previous releases which originally contained exclusive material that is now included herein.
